Open Tuesday - Sunday, and Bank Holiday Mondays, 10.00am - 5.00pm, April - October. Closed on Mondays (except for Bank Holidays). Last entry is 30 minutes before closing time. Please note: Some areas of Southsea Castle may be closed or inaccessible for operational purposes.

The Yellow Kite café is to be found in the Western Bailey of the castle through a courtyard garden. Yellow Kite is a catering company run with a commitment to good food and providing social good – set up as a social enterprise this unique catering company offers a cup of the best coffee in town and also provides exclusive catering for the events at the castle. Car parking: Car and coach pay and display parking is available near the museum, including in the D-Day Museum car park, and on Clarence Esplanade and the Avenue de Caen. Travelling by public transport: Southsea Castle is roughly the same distance from both Portsmouth Harbour, and Portsmouth & Southsea train stations. There are taxi ranks at both stations and a number of frequent buses that will drop you off close to the castle. Dogs: Well behaved dogs are permitted in the café courtyard only.
